Bargeheights was privileged to come alongside Chad Acklin and Steve Hadden at Journey Church in Louisville, KY to help create a compelling worship space for this growing church plant. The BH team worked closely with Journey to develop an economical production solution that limited impact to the church’s current meeting space.
Bargeheights Lighting gear includes LED36 backlight, LED 54AW facelight and BAR252 wash bars. For visuals and lyric projection, Bargeheights opted for a triple-wide plasma display solution fed by ProPresenter4.

Before…
2009 was a fantastic year for Bargeheights! Thanks to a number of humbling opportunities, Bargeheights was able to come alongside several churches and make a measurable impact in the ministry capabilities. Hope Springs Community Church is one of those amazing opportunities. Although there are a number of posts about Hope Springs scattered throughout the blog, as I reflect on 2009, I though I might recap the project for your reading enjoyment.
A conversation over coffee about some recommendations on new speakers and a new light or two eventually led to an opportunity to partner with Hope Springs’ volunteer-centric vision to accomplish the unthinkable–build a church using volunteers. The pictures below are the original Hope Springs worship space, the church’s first facility after meeting (church-in-a-box style) in a local high school theater for several years. Over time, the current campus’ proximity to downtown has helped shape the church’s DNA, center around recovery and loving those “on the fringe”.

I’ve worked alongside some of my good friends @soacres during the last several weeks finishing up the avl (audio, video, lighting) system install for @soacres’ new Kidstuf theater. After the push, the church leadership decided to hold an opening “big church” service in the new space.
The room and rig has come a long way since the beginning of the summer. Search through older posts on this blog to see the progress.

But, it’s not all about gear. It’s about people. Many years ago I was an annoying punk high school kid who knew little but wanted to learn and follow a leader. Through the friendship and mentoring of a handful of people, I came to an understanding of my “calling” as a production artist.I wouldn’t have a desire to serve today, nor would I know ANYTHING about the art and technique of production if not for the shaping of a few really awesome guys…
Clifton is one of the those guys.Great friend, amazing teacher and a huge part of why I do what I do. He taught me lessons in life, lighting and overall production coolness. Thanks dude–I have so much more to learn.

The congregation over at Hope Springs has been ROCKIN’ it with the help of Bargeheights and @gtkconsulting. Concrete work around the new bathroom plumbing is finished. The entire bathroom/kitchen framing was completed in one day!! These guys rock hard!
Drywall goes up this weekend and paint follows immediately. Amazing progress. Soft opening of the new space is only a few weeks away. AVL (audio, video, lighting) install is just around the corner.
and now the pics…
