Congrats to Crossroads’ Georgetown Campus for a great soft launch of their new permanent facility! This was one of the most personally rewarding projects where Bargeheights has been able to contribute. I spent time with the Crossroads Georgetown campus in the early days, when the campus was a completely portable church-in-a-box operation. In fact, theĀ originalĀ ”bargeheights” blog started during my time there. To this day, my experiences with the Georgetown campus highlight the “WOW” of serving and leading in the local church. The Crossroads GTown community has done so much for my family and holds a special place in our heart.
It was an absolute honor to come alongside Greg Gilmore and so many familiar faces (Amy, Ken, Chris, Bo, Kathy, Tom…so many) to design a scenic look for the opening weekend and help provide some guidance on lighting design, working alongside the church’s avl integrator.
Greater things are yet to come!

The Pre-Focus meeting
As a sort of recap, I have to say from band, to teaching, to production team…WOW. This satellite campus experiment has become a real, authentic place. Not that numbers are a measure of the hearts of people—but we’re continuing to grow. New folks are coming to experience our art in all of it’s many forms. Like so many of you on our team, despite weekend after weekend of early mornings, this venture continues to be rewarding and affirming.
Here’s a song from a weekend or so ago. It’s organic. It’s raw. It’s real. One guitar and a heatfelt vocal. To say moving is an understatement.
Forgiveness

I’ve slacked on posting some recordings of recent weekends at Gtown. Edits I’ve found are a bit hard to do sans laptop. However, my lovely wife has been kind enough to let me us “her” Powerbook. So, here’s a Best Of from the last few weeks…

Here are some images from the end of the Is It a Wonderful Life series, including some shots from Christmas. In some of the images you can see the sand art b-roll video. We used two of these video pieces behind our live band (playing to a click). Very cool moment indeed.

A while ago I posted an experiment in alternative house light for our oh-so-elegant conference room venue at xroads’ gtown. After much work on the part of Ronnie, take a look at the result. The enclosures are constructed of 2×6 studs., with leftover corrugated plastic scraps for a diffuser. Just cause’ we placed metal gutter guard in front of the diffuser for a more industrial feel. The lighting element is a simple single tube 48″ shop light from Lowes. Pictures don’t capture the workmanship. Ronnie tells me he actually planned all of the wood—just like the finest of cabinets. Awesome job once again Ronnie!
These enclosures are actually sooo cool and so bright that I see them as a effect light or freestanding backdrop.
