“Visual signature” is a phrase we use a lot around the
Bargeheights design table. Every church is unique. No two pastors, worship leaders or congregation members are the same. God created us that way. We believe strongly that each unique church congregation should have a unique visual signature – that is, the worship environment(s) should leave a unique impression that serves as a visual expression of the inherent uniqueness of the church congregation.
During initial meetings with church leaders, we’ll begin asking the question “If the feel, vibe, vision, past, present and future of a community of Christ-Followers could be symbolized in one element – one piece of art – what would it be?”
The visual signature of a church is expressed in different ways. For some projects, the signature might be a unique, one-of-a-kind lighting fixture, or a unique illuminated feature (“light art”). Maybe it’s a special scenic texture. Even something as simple as configuring an all-wash lighting system, avoiding hard edge fixtures altogether.
Imagine all the special stuff that makes your church YOUR church. What if those qualities were represented in the visual landscape of the worship venue. THAT’s the visual signature, and that’s one of several things the Bargeheights team can design for churches.
